KIDS EYE EXAMS

Children's eye health is vital for development and academic success. Our kid-friendly eye exams are tailored to make the experience comfortable and engaging for young patients. We screen for common pediatric eye conditions, such as amblyopia (lazy eye) and strabismus (crossed eyes), and ensure that your child's vision is on the right track.

Regular eye exams are crucial for children's development and academic success, as vision problems can affect learning and behavior.

The exam helps make sure your child’s vision is developing properly, which is important for their overall growth, coordination and development.

The eye exam can detect common pediatric eye conditions like lazy eye (amblyopia), crossed eyes (strabismus), and the need for glasses (nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism).

It's recommended for children to have the first eye exam at 6 months old, again at age 3, and before starting school. After that, they should get their eyes checked every year.

The exam will include tests to see how well your child sees (visual acuity), how their eyes work together (eye alignment and binocularity) and if their eyes are healthy. The process is designed to be comfortable and non-invasive for kids.

To prepare your child for their eye exam, we recommend talking to them about the eye exam ahead of time, reassuring them it won’t hurt, and letting them ask questions.
